Systems/Support Analyst Jobs

Desktop Support / Senior Support Analyst, London £28k - 35k

Our client who specialises in providing information systems and solutions to local and central government as well as businesses from leading industries require an outstanding Desktop / Senior Support Analyst to provide desktop services support to internal users.

Key Responsibility / Duties to involve:
• Strong troubleshooting skills in dealing with all level of support calls up to 3rd line enquiries, and perform research where necessary.
• Deal with suppliers – purchase, licensing, and disposal.
• Managed a team of Support analysts.
• Telephone and personal first line support for PC systems and Microsoft Office problems.
• PC configuration and installation.
• Basic network support.
• Check all daily, weekly and monthly back-ups.
• Perform data archiving and restores.
• Printer management.
• Liaison with third party maintenance providers.
• Documentation of Support policies and procedures.
• Manage and maintain hardware and software asset records.
• Support Blackberry hardware and BES and train staff in knowledge of using it.
• Support VPN issues and documentation on usage of such technology.
• Undertake any project work handed down from the IT Director.
• Support and maintain House on the Hill, CRM/Helpdesk software.
• Perform software auditing on all computers.
• Manage and maintain user accounts, computer accounts (Active Directory) and the SMS database.
• Software roles-outs and assists on floor moves.
• Anti-virus prevention and security maintenance.
• VPN support.

Personal Attributes:
The successful candidate will have an open communicative personality, enthusiastic but disciplined. Well organized, but able to handle interruptions calmly and conscientiously.

You will be expected to have the following technical attributes:
Windows OS (XP, server 2003), PC Skills, basic networking, AD, PC/Laptop and printer hardware.

You will be expected to support the following:
Windows XP, PC installation, configuration and hardware upgrades.
Microsoft Office 2000/2003
Basic network troubleshooting

Preferred:
VISTA, Blackberry BES, Server 2003, SMS

TCP/IP Networking Skills:
Our client operates TCP/IP networks. They also have internet access and links to other sites. Network problem resolution will therefore form part of this job.

A full clean driving license is also required since trips between sites may be required.

Candidates must be educated to degree level.
