EMEA Network Operations Team Member, London £45k - £50k
Our client, a leading blue chip financial advisory and management organisation are recruiting for an EMEA Network Operations Team Member.
Department Summary:
The Team is responsible for all aspects of the EMEA Network Operations from providing critical business support in analyzing & remediating complex problems in application & infrastructure connectivity; to maintaining operational stability by managing capacity and having overall responsibility in the decision process around network change management.
Duties Involve:
• Level-1 Network Support is outsourced to Global Vendors so much of the work will
require dealing with technical / high impact escalations - Level2 - and site support duties.
• Analyzing and managing complex production issues and making timely decisions on
resolution / escalation to ensure business impact is minimized.
• Overseeing the day to day performance of outsourced vendors, conducting monthly
reviews against contracted SLA’s.
• Implementation of continuous process improvements to enhance stability & service
offering.
• Lifecycle of the Network QA / ITIL aligned Change Management process providing focus
on infrastructure stability and evaluating business driven changes against operational risk
Hours are based on a 40hr week, rotating in 3 shifts (covering 7am to 7pm).
Candidates must be flexible on working patterns to suit Business needs. A regular ’OnCall’ shift cover is expected.
The candidate will be based at one the London offices with an occasional weekly shift at the Camberley office. Travel will be required on occasion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Level2 support of the CISCO network infrastructure.
• Escalation point for Level1 ensuring ownership, management & timely progression of
issues.
• To directly liaise & support various technology & Business groups.
• Provide input to infrastructure projects to ensure supportability in the Operational
environment.
• Participate in the Network Change Management process providing focus on
infrastructure stability and evaluating business driven changes against operational risk
• Overseeing the day to day performance of outsourced vendors, conducting monthly
reviews against contracted SLA’s and managing service improvements.
• Ensuring knowledge & process improvements are documented and shared amongst the
Team.
Key Skills:
• Strong all-round knowledge of data networking architectures covering LAN, MAN, WAN
(MPLS) & associated technologies especially routing, switching.
• Strong Multicast troubleshooting skills.
• Strong capabilities of packet level analysis focusing on low latent environments.
• At least 4 year’s Network Operations LEVEL2 experience of supporting a major corporate
CISCO network infrastructure in the Finance sector.
• Good understanding of Firewalls, VoIP and other network related services including
DHCP, DNS, WideIP, Load Balancers.
• Motivated, results orientated “Team Player” with specific focus on delivering operational
excellence under pressure.
• Must have a clear sense of direction & responsibility, able to communicate well in a
clear, confident and friendly manner to all levels of the business.
Desired Skills:
• It would be advantageous for the candidate to have experience of the Netscout network
management platforms and OPSWare NAS.
• Some project work would be an advantage as Network Services operate a mobility
structure to give support staff the ability to complete Project work.
• Strong experience of working internationally throughout the EMEA region and with the
US & Asia would be an advantage.
