A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled and dynamic Test Engineer to join a global leading IT consulting services company based in the South West. This long term role will involve joining a team working on long term support/development projects.

Roles and responsibility:
• Initial assessment of test requests.
• Define and agree integration test specifications.
• Design and writing test scenarios, plans and scripts, and then maintain and execute them
• Analyse and report on test execution results and planning testing activities.
• Design, develop, implement and support test environments.
• Install, configure and support automated testing toolsets.
• Work directly with programme or vendor tests and technical users.
• Resolve issues with test builds.

Skills/Experience:

Essential Experience
• Proven broad technical experience.
• Able to personally integrate into a large programme with many internal Stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing at all levels (with colleagues, mangers, clients).
• Development of integration and system level test scripts.
• Thorough understanding the principles of testing.
• Ability to analyse and diagnose system failures.
• A quick learner.
• Mobility is essential.
• Candidates MUST have highest level Government Security Clearance (DV).

Desirable Experience/Qualifications
• Test Planning and Coordination, Automated and Manual Testing Techniques.
• Mercury TestDirector or other automated testing toolsets.
• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing.
• Basic networking experience with appreciation of technologies such as DNS, DHCP, auditing and accounting.
• Technical, architecture design or engineering experience.

In return, a generous basic salary of £25k-£35k is available depending on experience, as well as medical insurance + pension + share options + excellent benefits package.
