***SC CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE***

Responsible for:
• Introduction new Skynet 5 Maritime Platforms
• To be the lead Engineer for the design and definition of the SKYNET 5 service and the subsequent installation configuration onto T45 and CVF platforms
• Interfacing with customers technical representative regarding system requirements and interfaces
• Technical interface with systems engineering
• Supporting Project Manager at internal review meetings and customer progress meetings as required

Primary Duties:
• Design lead for Skynet 5 delivery into T45 and CVF platforms
• Lead for Skynet 5 interfaces for T45 and CVF
• Managing any changes to current design to achieve CVF / T45 requirements
• Attendance at Technical and Project meetings
• Holding technical reviews
• Undertake technical studies relavent to new platforms
• Undertake ship visits as required to resolve problems / interface issues
• Establish test/trial requirements in conjunction with systems engineering
• Input to documentation updates as required for the introduction of new platform classes

Essential Competencies:
• Previous experience of working on Maritime Communications systems
• Proven ability to manage technical interfaces with suppliers and customers
• Educated to degree level in Electronics Engineering

Desirable Competencies:
• Knowledge of Military SatCom sytems
• Knowledge and experience of ISDN connectivity
• Knowledge and experience of IP networks

Essential Training Requirements:
• Electronic Engineering degree

Equipment training courses - eg
• Passport
• Cisco router
• Minimux
