Manager of Change (MOC), Wiltshire £40k – £55k

A superb permanent role has become available within a prestigious global communications company for a Change Manager.

Responsible for:
Provide the co-ordination and control to the day to day operational tasks undertaken on the Skynet and Client’s Augmentation Networks ensuring service provision and excellence to all customers.
Providing incident management support where required and the management of technical issues associated with the Skynet and PAN networks on a daily basis and working with supporting personnel in determining engineering priorities to resolution, whilst ensuring close liaison with internal and external customers, engineering departments and agencies.

Primary Duties
• Deputise for Service Assurance Manager when required
• Co-ordinate operational activity within the Main Operations Centre and Stevenage Network Operations Centre for both Core and PAN services with CORE and PAN leads
• Track and control Incident Management activities
• Close liaison with 3rd and 4th line engineering teams
• Manage the successful and timely resolution of all service related incidents and ensure that the senior management are kept informed of progress.
• Ensure network integrity and liaise with security staff as required
• Providing daily operational updates to the Service Assurance Manager
• Prepare system performance statistical reports, monthly or as requested by Senior Management
• Close liaison with SERCO Ensuring operational procedures are maintained and updated
• Develop and implement procedural updates
• Work within the agreed service levels to ensure customer satisfaction targets are met through following processes, operational involvement and team working.
• Attend design reviews to ensure the development of readiness for system delivery into Operation and management by Operations Staff
• React as a point of escalation, on call an on call basis out of hours, for Network Management staff
• Act in close liaison with the Problem Manager in order to support root cause analysis processes


Essential Competencies:
• Experienced in the operational management of complex integrated networks
• Versatile and experienced systems engineer qualified to HND Level or above
• A background containing theoretical and practical experience in satellite communications networks.
• Extensive experience in ground systems engineering.
• A proven track record in service delivery and support
• Motivated self starter with a organisational, time management skills and able to work under pressure
• Demonstrated capability and flexibility in dynamic environments
• A good knowledge of networks (LAN/WAN) including routing and configurations
• A good knowledge of security products (Firewall / IPS / Remote Access)
• SC Clearance

Desirable Competencies:
• Military Operational experience.
• Excellent Interpersonal skills.
• A technical understanding of Client’s Operations

Essential Training Requirements:
• MS Office Tools.
• Exposure to MoD Customer Networks.
• LAN/WAN Technologies
• Systems Engineering
