UK Capture/Sales Manager, Hertfordshire £40k – £55k + excellent benefits package

A superb permanent role has become available within a prestigious global defence communications company for a UK Capture/Sales Manager.

The candidate must have demonstrable sales success against annual targets. Proven (and demonstrable) track record in Sales and Business Development in a defence marketplace (achievement of revenue targets, sales growth figures, etc) is essential for this role

Job Profile
Reporting directly to the Business Development Director and working with the UK military advisor, this person will be responsible for conducting successful sales campaigns with the UK MOD in the field of military satellite communications services to extend the Client’s business beyond the existing Skynet 5 boundary.

The Sales Manager will be responsible first and foremost for the generation of new business sales revenue, but also for the overall development and growth of the company’s profile and reputation. This will entail developing and managing capture plans to declared customer needs and also proactively influencing future concepts, initiatives and planning within both the customer environment and the Client business to developed profitable capability not recognised by UK MOD

The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing prospects through the entire sales process from identification, to capture and to handover to the relevant product management teams.

The Sales Manager will
• Be set an annual (and longer term) Orders, Revenue and Profit target
• Be given full responsibility for developing specific major prospects with the UK MOD above and beyond Skynet 5 CISD opportunities such as Miscellaneous Services
• Actively pursue new business with the UK MoD

Qualifications and/or Skills
• Candidate must have >5 years experience in a defence or government sales environment
• Candidate must have experience of sales in a service delivery industry
• Proven (and demonstrable) track record in Sales and Business Development in a defence marketplace (achievement of revenue targets, sales growth figures, etc)
• Degree qualified or equivalent experience (technical type degree preferred, sales and marketing acceptable)
• Driving license
• Ability to travel

Previous Experience - Essential:
• Candidate must have >5 years experience in a defence or government sales environment
• Candidate must have experience of sales in a service delivery industry
• A military service background is not essential for this role
• Candidate must have proven ability to manage a customer relationship from start to finish and to capture the business.
