Network and Security Engineer - Break into Banking/Hedge fund Permanent

Network and Security Engineer required by a global managed services firm which provides IT services to Hedge Funds and Private Equity Houses in Europe, United States and Asia.

The Purpose of Role is to Design, Implement, Maintain and Support all Internetworking and Security requirements for all core infrastructure, incorporating a range of client and 3rd party network designs.

Key Tasks:
Network evolution of core services:
This category of work involves a wide range of networking and security technologies encompassing all elements of the backbone infrastructure including Cisco 6513 Campus Switches, Cisco 3845 Routers and Nokia IP390 Firewalls.

Ongoing projects will include: Datacenter relocation projects, building new data centers and the global roll-out of hierarchical design at the campus edges.

Technical Skills:
Routing Protocols:
OSPF, BGP, RIP (v2), EIGRP

Security Platforms:
Checkpoint NGX and Management Suite (SmartCenter, SmartUpdate, SmartView Tracker) experience implementing/installing/troubleshooting on Nokia IP390 Platform, Cisco 3845, Cisco 87x Series.

NMS and Troubleshooting Tools:
CiscoWorks Lan Manager Suite, tcpdump, fwmonitor, Ethereal, Wireshark.

Hardware:
Experience with common platforms would be useful:
Cisco 6500, 4500, 3845, 2800, 87x, 3750, 3560, 2950, Aironet 1242ag
Nokia IP390
IBM Bladecenter HS20/HS21

The successful Network & Security Engineer will have excellent communications and have appropriate qualifications. CCNA, CCNP or above (CCIE).
